EUFSC President Konstantin Ishkhanov invites the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra to perform at the InClassica festival in Dubai.
Of August 15 to September 26, an extraordinary musical event featuring 38 soloists, 8 orchestras and 12 conductors from around the world, will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This distinguished project is organized by the European Foundation for the Support of Culture (EUFSC), in collaboration with SAMIT Event Group, and created to elevate classical music to its highest level of professionalism and to give culture and the arts a leading position in the popular interest of today. The project will bring together exceptional soloists, prestigious orchestras and some of the most esteemed conductors. This edition of InClassica will create a unique atmosphere, something that has never been achieved before.
In addition to these exceptional performances, EUFSC and SAMIT will bring to Dubai two other glorious events: International Classical Piano Competition, from August 15 to September 3, featuring the winners of 14 preliminary competitions from around the world who will compete in Dubai over four rounds in a demonstration of musicality and pianistic excellence. The second event will be the Middle Eastern Academy of Classical Music, taking place alongside InClassica from September 4 to 23. The Academy will host some of the most esteemed professors and performers from around the world for a series of workshops, lectures and open masterclasses.
Here are some of the world famous classical music personalities who will be present at InClassica 2021:
â Grammy Award Winner and Avery Fisher Prize Winner, Violinist Gil shaham (UNITED STATES);
â Winner of the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition and one of the most prominent artists of his generation, pianist Denis matsuev (Russia);
â Grammy Award, two-time Gramophone Classical Music Award, Classic Brit Award and five-time winner of the Edison Classical Music Award, violinist Maxime Vengerov (Monaco);
â Gold medalist at the Fifteenth International Piano Competition Van Cliburn and multiple First Prize at many other international competitions, pianist Yekwon Sunwoo (South Korea);
â Exclusive artist Deutsche Grammophon, winner of the 2016 Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition and winner of the âYoung Artist of the Year 2017â award at the Festival of Nations, virtuoso violinist Daniel Lozakovich (Sweden);

To accompany all these prestigious names, there will be eight major ensembles, including the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, which will add another fundamental step to his career of great achievements. Since its creation in 1949, the orchestra has indeed worked alongside the most prestigious conductors, such as JÃ¡nos Ferencsik (Hungary), Franz Konwitschny (Germany), Sir Eugene Goossens (United Kingdom), Roberto Benzi (France), among many others. The orchestra regularly gives performances around the world, participating in some of the most important national and international festivals and competitions. During its numerous concerts, the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra has managed to perform in almost all European countries while, concerning intercontinental duties, the Slovak ensemble has toured exceptional stages in Japan, South Korea, the States United and Oman, to name a few. some. In 2019, the orchestra celebrated its 70th anniversary and it is certainly ready to embark on ambitious and distinguished projects, as in the case of the InClassica International Music Festival in Dubai.
In addition, there will be seven other world famous orchestras: the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (United Kingdom), which gives around 200 concerts each year; the Russian national orchestra, which has a 2004 Grammy and a 2015 Diapason d’Or; the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (ASSO), who throughout his career has collaborated alongside exceptional soloists such as Maxim Vengerov, Denis Matsuev, Zakhar Bron and many others; the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (Israel), who has the opportunity to perform with some of the greatest artists from around the world; the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, who has grown over the past few years and takes pride in collaborations with world-renowned musicians; the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra (Russia), which constantly participates in major festivals around the world; the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz (Germany), who has always performed alongside internationally renowned conductors and soloists.
The orchestras will perform under the baton of twelve famous conductors, including: founder, artistic director and principal conductor of ASSO, Sergey Smbatyan (Armenia); Grammy-nominated conductor and cellist, Dmitry Yablonsky (US / Israel / Spain); artistic director and principal conductor of the Eurasian Stars festival, Mikhail Kirchhoff (Russia); conductor of the Slovak Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Raiskin; Founder and Music Director of the St. Petersburg Festival Orchestra, Marius Stravinsky (UK), to name a few.
InClassica will present works by contemporary composers Alexey shor, who will serve as composer in residence for the Festival. His pieces have been performed around the world by some of the most acclaimed soloists such as violinists Salvatore Accardo and Andrey Baranov, cellist Gautier CapuÃ§on, pianist Freddy Kempf and many more. In addition, many major ensembles including the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburg State Orchestra and many others have staged the compositions of Shor.
As for the venue, the festival will take place in two of the main venues in Dubai: the Coca-Cola Arena and the Dubai Opera. The first was officially opened in 2019, hosting different types of events, including concerts, sports, family entertainment and other ceremonies. It is one of the most technologically advanced arenas in the world, which makes this place capable of hosting exceptional projects. The Dubai Opera hosts opera concerts, ballets, lectures and exhibitions. It was officially opened in 2016 with a memorable performance by Spanish opera singer and conductor Placido Domingo.
