The Tribute to our Veterans concert will take place at the Mary Winspear Center
The Sidney Concert Band will hold its annual Tribute to our Veterans concert on November 7, in honor of Remembrance Day.
Director Bruce Ham will conduct the band at the Mary Winspear Center in Sidney, and the concert will feature music and marches from Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom, to You’ve Got a Friend in Me, with singer Nicola Hesnes. The evening’s theme will also include a thank you to healthcare workers and frontline workers for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Sidney Concert Band looks forward to entertaining you soon and will resume practice this fall with all appropriate health protocols in place for the safety of musicians and the community,” the concert band said in a statement.
Tickets are $20, available online at marywinspear.ca or by calling the box office at 250-656-0275.
