Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month | Way of life



The Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (OSPR) will present the Hispanic Heritage concert this Saturday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Symphony Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts in Santurce, San Juan.

The concert, led by Associate Director Rafael Enrique Irizarry, will commemorate the international celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place annually in the Americas from September 15 to October 15.

“A Spain idealized by popular culture has settled in the unconscious of everyone in the Spanish speaking world. This seductive Spain, full of subtleties and exuberance, is what we will discuss in this concert. the homeland of France, of Russia and, inevitably, of specifically Spanish authors, ”declared Irizarry.

The evening will begin with Spanish Dance No. 1 by composer Manuel de Falla and end with “Fantastic Dances” by Joaquin Turina. You can also enjoy Suites n ° 1 and 2 of the opera ‘Carmen’ by Georges Bizet, the Intermezzo of the opera ‘Goyescas’ by Enrique Granados, the Suite of ‘Le Masque de Zorro’ by James Horner arr. John Mauceri, ‘Spain Rapsodie’ by Emmanuel Chabrier, ‘Capriccio Espagnol’ by Rimsky-Korsakov, and Music from the ballet ‘Le Cid’ by Jules Massenet.

Participants must present proof of vaccination to enter the room and must wear a mask at all times. Tickets are affordable at $ 15 and can be purchased at the Centre’s box office and at Ticketing.
