The Comox Valley Concert Band returns to the stage on Saturday, December 4 at 2 p.m. with a shindig of dance tunes that kick and kick. The Evergreen Club at the Filberg Center is sponsoring this popular community event.
Under the direction of dance master Denise Marquette, the 50-piece wind ensemble promises an eclectic overview of musical compositions that cross the dance floor of time.
The group features works by Frank Ticheli (“Cajun Folk Songs II: No. 2, Country Dance”), Rogers and Hammerstein (“Shall we Dance”), Lerner and Lowe (“I Could Have Danced All Night”) , as well as a bit of 70s nostalgia at ABBA. Could it be “Dancing Queen?”
In addition, the group anticipates the next holiday season with a few winter classics including “Charlie Brown’s Christmas” and “Greensleeves”.
Join the Evergreen Club at the Filberg Center in Courtenay for an afternoon of dancing for the whole family. Tickets are $ 10 in advance at the Florence Filberg Center or at the door – children under 12 are free. Proof of vaccination and mandatory masks.
