Against the backdrop of steam locomotives at the Roundhouse, the community wind orchestra will take the audience on a journey into the cosmos on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, Journey Through Orion and many other compositions will be on the program.
The band have played a number of successful gigs since the Covid restrictions were lifted, but the Roundhouse is a much bigger venue to showcase the band’s talents.
During lockdown, the Phoenix Concert Band rose to the challenges of Zoom rehearsals and grew into a bigger, stronger ensemble.
Tickets for the concert cost £8 (£4 for children) in advance and £10 cash at the door. For more details on how to get tickets, go to www.phoenixband.reportthe group’s Facebook page or call 07729 951815. A supply will be available for purchase at the Chesterfield Tourist Information Centre.
New players are always welcome in the band and there are vacancies for a range of instruments. If you’re an interested adult, playing at level 5 or higher and ready to commit weekly
rehearsals (Friday nights at Hasland Methodist Church) and play at local gigs,
